Most common formats
Basically, any legible document can be translated into another language. As far as electronic files are concerned, processable file formats usually greatly facilitate the translation process. As regards brochures and websites, translating directly from HTML or IDML (InDesign) can save an enormous amount of time. What is more, producing documents directly from data without the need for copy and paste eliminates a frequent source of errors. The result is an efficient process and an even better final product.
Certified and legalised translations
Your documents – translated and attested for use worldwide
Certification or legalisation are required for the translation of official documents which need to be submitted to official bodies in and outside your home country. The formal requirements differ depending on the recipient, content and purpose. While private individuals usually need certified translations of diplomas and certificates, companies frequently require certification or legalisation of the translation of contracts or certificates of registration.
We offer the following forms of certification for the translation of documents submitted to official bodies all over the world:
- Certified translations
- Court-certified translations (instead of notarised translations)
- Translations legalised by a government appointee (Apostille or authentication)
- Translations legalized by a consulate or embassy (authentication)
Proofreading and editing
Flawless documents – final quality checks
To ensure that you communicate in a professional manner, it is often useful to have important texts checked externally by a language expert. On request, we also provide this service and meticulously check content and fix errors quickly. We differentiate between two different reviewing stages: Proofreading and editing.
Proofreading
Checks include general spelling, grammar and typographic checks. No changes are made to content.
Editing
In addition to proofreading, texts are also assessed in terms of style and language and revisions made where needed. Checks completed at this stage are more centred on readability and comprehensibility.
Corporate language
Bespoke translations – consistent and individualised to meet your requirements
Translations have to be like chameleons. Adaptation to the surroundings is essential to achieve long-term success. As far as corporate clients are concerned, translations should reflect the language and intention of the company to as great an extent as possible.
This is quite a challenge because every company has their own language. Documents contain names and abbreviations of processes, products, departments and projects that may be incomprehensible to others.
As language experts, it is very important to us to master company-specific language (corporate language) and create consistent foreign language translations. Thanks to the use of a team of regular translators, CAT tools and consistent documentation in the form of style guides and glossaries, we retain knowledge of the language used by each respective company and can use insights for future assignments.
Another advantage of CAT tools is that identical passages of text will always be translated in the same way. This ensures consistent communication and can reduce translation costs considerably.
